It’s important to change up your exercise workouts every so often. It not only gets boring doing the6packwithdumbbell-copy same thing but you need to continue to shock your muscles so they don’t stagnate. When they stagnate they will stop building muscles and burning fat. If training is different and fun you will stick with it. Don’t you agree?

Do you want to be one that jumps on and off the fitness scene every couple of years without making any real changes or are you one that truly wants to live a healthy lifestyle and make lasting changes?

Make it fun and different and make it an important priority. Then you will be more healthy and will be able to get a 6 pack.

Many people will do the same thing day in and day out get bored after a few months or less and stop altogether.  If they only opened their mind to all the endless ways to exercise.

There is no reason to ever get bored with your exercise workouts with so many different types of workouts and fun ways to get your body moving.

Add these unique exercises on your off days or after your weight training days. You can try these training cycles for a few weeks and then go back to your traditional weight training workouts.

This is a great way to keep your exercise workouts fun and boring FREE. You will see more muscle tone like you never have seen before.

Unusual non-traditional training techniques:

1. Wind Sprints and Hill Sprints -
Find any open field in a park or athletic field and try 50, 75, and 100-yard all-out wind sprints. After each sprint, rest long enough to catch your breath before the next one (generally 1-2 minutes).

Try workouts of anywhere from 6 to 20 wind sprints for a great “cutting” workout. Also, if you have a hill nearby, hill sprints are also great workouts. Sprint up the hill as fast as you can and walk down for your rest interval. Repeat until you’re pooped (a 20-30 minute hill workout is plenty).

These sprint workouts work the largest muscle group of your whole body and are extremely effective. The rev up your metabolism with raises those fat burning and muscle growing hormones. Ever notice the ripped 6 pack body that sprinters have?

2. Kettlebell Training –
These are a fun change.   According the Mike Geary, A Certified Nutrition Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer, kettlebell training is one of the best methods that he has ever tried and taken his physical capabilities to a whole new level.

Kettlebells are an different type of free-weights, instead of barbells and dumbbells. They are easy to hold with their hand on tip which gives you a completely different type of exercises compared to dumbells or barbells.

Usually serious athletes, military or martial art fighters would train with kettlebells. For anybody who is looking to to build mass and find the fastest way to burn fat why not use kettlebells and reep the benefits.

They are on the pricey side ranging from $100 to $150 per kettlebell but are well worth the money and will last forever.

3. Staircase Workouts -
This is easy to find stairs are everywhere. Go to a High school, college, hotel and even your house. To give to maximum results try doing sprints up the stairs with upper bodyweight exercises like push ups or pull ups.

This will fire up your metabolism by working the largest muscle groups in your body. .

4. Ring Training - Use portable gymnastic for this type of training. You throw the straps up over any high bar like a pull up bar, the top of a power rack, or even over a football field goal crossbar. After adjusting the rings try some exercises like

  • ring dips
  • ring push ups
  • ring pull-ups
  • hanging leg raises
  • horizontal body rows
  • L-sits
  • Dips
  • push ups

These are advance exercises but very effective.

5.  Bodyweight Workouts -
These are great to do right at home or outside. Try doing one or two workouts a week at home with just bodyweight based exercises. You can effectively do these exercises in 15 to 30 minutes. Try switching up bodyweight squats, push ups variations, lunges, and floor abs exercises continuously for 15-30 minutes.

The goal is to take very short recover periods. For the advanced try more challenging workouts with exercises like handstand push ups, one-arm push ups, and one-legged squats into your bodyweight training routines.

6. Swimming (Sprint swimming) -
This will work all the major muscle of your body and stress the muscle very differently most resistant type exercises. Include swimming sprints once or twice a week to really see your body transform. Sprint swimming will build muscle verse endurance long distance swimming.

For example swim hard to the other side of a 25 meter or 50 meter pool rest to recover about 20 to 40 seconds depending on your fitness level then repeat. Try to keep the recovery times short. Mix up your workout with different strokes like (crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, backstroke, butterfly) on each swim sprint.

7. Sandbag Training -
This adds something very different to your strength training routine. The unstable object forces you to use muscle you normally wouldn’t. This intense workout works your muscles very differently and gets your heart rate way up.

Fill Construction type sandbags or different sized duffel bags up with sand to make your own. You can do squats cleans, presses, lunges, throws or even carrying up a hill. Woo that is tough.
